We loved the vibe: Lombardy was built in 1929 and they kept the 20s feel intact, including a shutter-type door that enclosed our room entrance; we loved that they kept them. Our King Suite bed was perfect. There's a small ante-room with sink, fridge, cupboards and a breakfast table. The windows opened for fresh air. The ceiling fan evened out the AC unit nicely. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, from the moment we showed up at the door and were met by the concierge. It's 15 min walking distance from the White House; other attractions are further and walkable, but also only 2-3 blocks from the Metro which we used every day - perfect for getting around everywhere. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby (good price range). Area vibe is also great - George Washington University is nearby.

From the moment of arrival, via the Metro and a short we were welcomed by everyone. You have a 3 block walk or so t9o the Metro, but all of the sites of DC are accessible, and the White House and the National Mall are an easy walk. I loved the boutiqueness of this hotel. We did not sample the restaurant, but we enjoyed the vibe and service in the Venetian Bar. The double room was spacious with small kitchenette, K-cup style coffee maker, wine glasses waiting (had we drank wine, which we didnt). Seperate alcove for closet and luggage space. Timelessness to the bath/shower, If any drawback, the water was HOT and not easy to cool it down with the coldwater faucet. So, if you like hot showers, you'll love this. Very small elevators (two). Great, great staff. Can't say enough about their hospitality.

The location of hotel is fantastic. Metro from airport brought us within a few blocks which was great. We were so central it was impossible not to walk everywhere and see so much on foot. The kitchenette with fridge in a small separate area was good, and a table in there to eat at. We loved the old world charm of the hotel. The only small issue we had was not having a USB port in room plugs, which meant we had to buy a travel adapter (as visiting from europe) we were grateful to hotel to giving us an extra 40min until we had to check out as we had just run the rock n roll half marathon and we were moving slowly!!

The location of the hotel is excellent. Close to all the landmarks - just a short uber drive away! George Washington uni is right across. Within the vicinity of the hotel are excellent restaurants (I highly recommend the Indian at the corner) and pubs or a supermarket. Our suite had a "kitchen" but no plates or cutlery, so even preparing a salad came as a challenge. Nonetheless, it was super roomy and came with parking. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, from porter to valet to receptionist. They would welcome you back as if you were a long lost family member. This makes a difference!

Loved the Hotel Lombardy! Great location, comfortable accommodations, and the staff was wonderful--very helpful, friendly, and professional. This is an "old school" hotel--if you're looking for sleek, modern, and stark accommodations, then this isn't for you. If you're looking for old world charm and service, you'll love it (which we did!). Parking was extra with great valet service--worth it. We didn't try the restaurant/bar, so I can't speak to that, but we were very pleased with everything else. Would definitely stay here again.
